Brenda Asimwe is a Ugandan author, storyteller, and communications specialist. Born in Kyemengo village in Western: Uganda, Brenda’s childhood was a blend of two worlds: growing up around books at home and listening to the folktales told by her grandmother. These early foundations sparked a lifelong love for stories and storytelling.

A former journalist with New Vision, Brenda has spent over a decade telling stories for international development: organizations across the globe. She holds a Master’s in International Development from Nottingham Trent University (UK) and a Bachelor’s from Uganda Christian University, Mukono.

Through her writing, Brenda aims to move children beyond “reading for exam” toward a lifelong love for stories. When she isn’t writing, reading or catching up on her favorite series and movies, she can be found outdoors, hiking, running, or laughing with friends.
